Daniel M. Gruver

Vice President & Missionary

Daniel Gruver is the son of the late Daniel I. Gruver. Daniel is married to Sue Gruver and has two sons and a daughter, Benjamin, Michael and Lindsey. He is a retired Optometrist Major in the US Army. Daniel grew up in Kuna Yala, and was known for his mischievous endeavors growing up, however, the Kuna’s have a special place in his heart. It is his joy to introduce other believers to the wonderful world of Kuna Yala.

Danny Nelson

Board of Director

Danny Nelson is a native of Panama, born in the province of Chiriqui where he claims, "the pretty people are from and who use the national coin, the Meto." Danny is married to Heather. He has served in the US Navy, been a church planter, and a community developer, focusing on evangelism, water, education, deaf ministries and transportation. Danny is a great addition of the KAF team.

Lino Smith

Kuna Missions Coordinator

Lino Smith is a dear friend of Dr. Daniel M. Gruver. He is a Bible scholar and is widely known for his translation of the Greek and Hebrew Bible into the Kuna language. Today he pastors a church in Panama City. Periodically he visits the states where his children live. Lino is highly respected among the Kuna islands and he is a great help to our mission teams by tackling all the logistics needed to get to Kuna Yala.

Omar Coleman

Administrative Missionary

Omar grew up in Ailigandi while his father was the Pastor of Ailiigandi. Omar studied at the San Blas Agricultural Technical College where he was awarded a scholarship from Teen Missions International of Florida. He was then sent to Florida to train as a missionary. He then enrolled in the Faculty of Education program at ISAE University in Panama City, where he studied Primary Education. He has also served as a Youth Pastor in Ogobsucun and was appointed in 2011 as the secretary of the Baptist Association of Kuna Yala. Omar continues to work as a Volunteer Missionary because it is a call he senses is worthwhile. Omar is married to Nadin Mojica and together they have two daughters, Angie and Yeidi.

Venancio Perez

Kuna Yala Missionary

Venancio Perez lives on the island of Ailigandi. He is seminary trained and considers it his full mission to train and equip local pastors. Every month he travels to different island churches to meet with local pastors to undergo Bible training with them.
